Christian Women’s Job Corps of Tyler (CWJC Tyler) is a free educational program for women in the Tyler community with a financial need to work. Classes are structured to include computer training, money management, boundary and goal setting, career assessment, resume’ writing, interviewing, job searching, business communications and a non-denominational Bible study. CWJC Tyler has offered services to the Tyler community for the past ten years and has served over 450 participants in the East Texas area.
Depending on the funding that is available, CWJC also provides childcare and gas assistance to eligible students during their class session. This helps eliminate two potential barriers that prevent women from being able to attend classes. In 2009, CWJC provided childcare assistance for approximately 22 children and gas assistance for approximately 30 students per session.
