Admission Criteria — All Participants

Christian Women's Job Corps of Tyler was created to provide Job and Life skills training for women who want to develop skills for employment and who cannot afford to pay for college or job training classes. By applying for the course and attending the orientation and training classes, the participant is indicating that she is committed to participating fully in the program. The following criteria are guidelines for acceptance into the program.

The services of Christian Women’s Job Corps are available to all women of the community without regard to race or religion.

Applicants to the CWJC Tyler program must:
  • Have a desire to develop skills for employment
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a high school diploma, GED or be in the process of obtaining a GED
  • Have transportation to get to and from class each day
*An applicant who is recovering from chemical dependency must be drug and alcohol free for at least 6 months before being accepted into the program.

Evening Class (Intermediate Computers) Admission – Additional Requirements

Christian Women's Job Corps - Tyler, TXIn addition to the preceding requirements for the day program, participants in the evening class must have some basic computer knowledge. The following are required levels of competency for evening class applicants:

  • Know how to turn the computer on and off
  • Know how to open and close Windows Office© programs and files, including Microsoft Word©
  • Know how to use a mouse
  • Know how to resize and move windows
  • Know how to maximize and minimize windows
  • Have typing skills at least at the beginner level
